I'm often asked...

WHAT TYPE OF YOGA DO YOU TEACH?

A: Very good question.  In a nutshell, you could call it modern yoga – with a twist of chi gung and neuroscience thrown in, and functional movement principles.

I’ve been teaching yoga since 2002 and what I teach has changed hugely over that time. What I teach depends on what I am learning and what inspires me.  I always aim to make classes inspiring, fresh and new, fun, nurturing – and for you to follow your own intentions by paying close attention.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED IF I’M ATTENDING A ZOOM CLASS?

A: Just yourself, in a warm room with suitably stretchy clothing and a yoga mat. You may have other special props to hand which can be nice (blocks, eye pillows, bolsters) but I will always teach these zoom classes using household items rather than yoga props – so blankets, and towels and cushions. We all have those!

I HAVE A HEALTH CONDITION SO IS IT OK FOR ME TO DO YOGA WITH YOU?

A: As long as you have permission from your doctor – absolutely it will usually be fine and more than fine. Yoga can help with many serious and niggly health conditions not least because the way I teach my classes are to find balance – in all systems of the body. And that helps our self-organising system to move towards better health automatically.

So do let me know of any conditions you have (in your student form) and email or call me to discuss if you would like – but remember, although I have alot of experience, I am not a doctor, or nutritionist (or any other ist!) so I will help you in my capacity as a yoga teacher and human bean 🙂
